The District and the Sylvan Educators Association (SEA) have concluded the 2017 negotiations and resolved all issues through the attached Tentative Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.  SEA has gained ratification of these agreements through a successful vote of their members.

Staff recommends the Board of Trustees approve the attached agreements and memorandums of understanding between Sylvan Educators Association (SEA) and Sylvan Union School District.

The 2017-2018 School Year Calendar and Teacher Work Year Calendar has been developed.  This calendar was presented to the Board of Trustees as an information item at the April 11, 2017, Regular Board meeting.  The calendar includes the two (2) additional work days agreed to with Sylvan Educators Association (SEA) for the 2017-2018 school year.

Staff recommends the Board of Trustees approve the 2017-2018 School Year Calendar.

It is recommended the Board to approve the service agreement with a Non Public Agency (NPS) Sierra Vista Child & Family Services.  The IEP team agreed the student would continue services at Sierra Vista through the end of the 2016-2017 school year.

Remainder school year 2016-2017: $13,970.00

Mary Ann Sanders Elementary School has been recognized as a Leader in Me School since August 2014.  We have received a Panda Cares Grant that covers all teacher and student materials, as well as all formal training for the last three (3) years. The 2017-2018 school year will our first year sustaining the Leader in Me principles without extra Covey trainings (hopefully as a Lighthouse School.)  To assist us this year we are able to be assigned a Covey Coach.  The coaching fee is $3,900 plus travel expenses.   $5,000 has been budgeted, out of site funds, and approved by our site council to cover this cost. This fee gives us unlimited access to call or email our coach, one (1) on site coaching day, and two (2) community coaching days (regional meetings with approximately 4-6 schools.)

Staff recommends the Board of Trustees approve The Leader in Me Coaching System Agreement between Franklin Covey Client Sales, Inc. and Mary Ann Sanders Elementary School for The Leader in Me Coaching System as part of The Leader in Me Program at Mary Ann Sanders Elementary School for the 2017-2018 school year.

Site Funds: $3,900 plus travel expenses ($5,000 has been budgeted and approved by our site council to cover this cost).
