8.a. APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT WITH SYLVAN EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION (SEA)

Rationale:

The District and SEA have completed negotiations for the 2017-18 year.  All issues have been resolved through these negotiations with the Tentative Agreement reached on March 2, 2018.  SEA has successfully ratified this agreement according to their required process.

In addition to the Tentative Agreement, SEA is in agreement for the addition of two (2) paid work days for 2018-19, the continuation of grade 6 teacher instruction time alignment to grades 7-8, and to the Wednesday early dismissal for collaboration time for the 2018-19 school year.  The Tentative Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)s are attached.
 
Recommended Motion:

Staff recommends approval of the Tentative Agreement and MOUs reached through this year's negotiations.
Financial Impact:

Financial impact of 1.56% salary increase for 2017-18 and ongoing; Masters and/or Doctorate stipend addition to Psychologist/BCBA schedule
