Members of the public are always welcome at meetings of the Board of Trustees except for closed sessions. Individuals wishing to address the Board regarding agenda items may do so when the item is under consideration, assuming the item falls within the Board's jurisdiction. Individuals may address the Board on non-agenda items during public comment at regular Board meetings only. At special board meetings, individuals may comment only on agenda items. Individuals requiring special accommodations, including but not limited to an American sign-language interpreter, accessible seating or documentation in accessible formats, should contact the Superintendent's office at least two working days before the meeting date.

Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Howard Greenfield will present to the Governing Board an update of the Los Gatos Union School District Common Core Math and English Language Arts Progress Monitoring, Northwest Evaluation Assessement tool.
Rationale:

The Los Gatos Union School District focuses on data to improve student outcomes and to identify students’ needs. The District administered the North West Evaluation Association’s (NWEA) Measure of Academic Progress in October 2014 and January 2015. This is an update to the Board of Trustees.

D.2. Middle School Common Core Math Pathways Update
Quick Summary / Abstract:
R.J. Fisher Middle School Principal, along with teachers, will present to the Governing Board an update of the Common Core Middle School Math Pathways.
Rationale:
In November 2014, Principal Fraser provided the Board with an update on the Common Core Middle School Math pathways. As a follow up, the Board requested an update in February to include:

1. More detailed information on the strategies used to differentiate instruction.

2. An explanation on mastery learning and grading policies to address rigor and how students are being challenged in math.

3. An update on the math placement protocols and timelines.

E.2. Board Policy: Board Bylaw 9320, Meetings and Notices, First Reading
Quick Summary / Abstract:
Board Policies set guidelines and procedures for Governing Boards and school officials to follow and enforce. A first reading of the revised board policy/board bylaw is presented to the Governing Board for discussion.
Rationale:
At the January 20, 2015 Board meeting, the Board requested staff to revise the Board of Trustees meeting schedule for the 2015-2016 school year to Monday nights. In order to do so, the current Board Policy/Board Bylaw 9320, Meetings and Notices needs to be updated to reflect the change.
 
Recommended Motion:
A first reading of the attached Board Bylaw 9320, Meetings and Notices is presented to the Governing Board for review and discussion. All edits are underlined and were revised and reviewed by staff. The Board Bylaw will be presented to the Board for final approval at the February 24, 2015 Board meeting. Once adopted, CSBA will upload the policy to Gamut Online.
