Quick Summary / Abstract:
Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO, Martin Fregoso will present the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex professional services contracts to the Governing Board for approval. This is an action item.
Rationale:
The bid results for the various services contracts are attached. The lowest responsive bidder for each trade package will be presented to the Board. Staff seeks authority from the Governing Board to execute the lowest responsive bid contract for demolition, earthwork and paving, underground utilities, site concrete, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, and general trades as presented. Modernization and construction of the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex is scheduled to start on Monday, April 6, 2015.

The following professional services contracts are presented to the Governing Board for approval:

Recommended Motion:
It is the recommendation of the Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO and the Superintendent that the Governing Board approve and authorize staff to execute the professional services contracts for the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex as presented.
Financial Impact:
The financial impact is listed above for each professional service contract.

B.2. Approval to Execute Trade Contracts for the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex
Quick Summary / Abstract:
Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO, Martin Fregoso will present the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex trade contracts to the Governing Board for approval. This is an action item.
Rationale:
Modernization and construction of the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex is scheduled to start on Monday, April 6, 2015. The bid results for the various trade packages are attached pending verification of qualifications. The lowest responsive bid for each trade package will be presented to the Governing Board for approval at the Board meeting. Staff seeks authority from the Governing Board to execute the lowest responsive bid contract for demolition, earthwork and paving, underground utilities, site concrete, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, and general trades upon verification of qualifications by Kramer Project Development .

Recommended Motion:
It is the recommendation of the Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO and the Superintendent that the Governing Board approve and authorize staff to execute the trade contracts for the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex upon verification of qualifications by Kramer Project Development for each contractor.
Financial Impact:
The financial impact will be presented at the Special Board meeting upon approval by the Governing Board.

B.3. Approval to Execute Meehleis Modular, Inc. Lease-Lease Back Contract for the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex
Quick Summary / Abstract:
Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO, Martin Fregoso will present the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex Meehleis Modular Inc. Lease-Lease Back contract to the Governing Board for approval. This is an action item.
Rationale:
The Meehleis Modular Inc. Lease-Lease Back contract is based on similar cost assumptions for other District projects and has been reviewed by legal counsel. Meehleis Modular Inc. was pre-qualified as the preferred vendor for the District using modular construction. Based on the architectural and district design specifications, Meehleis Modular Inc. proposes to build the dance and fitness classrooms as well as the new locker rooms for $3,900,457.
 
Recommended Motion:
It is the recommendation of the Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO and the Superintendent that the Governing Board approve and authorize staff to execute the Meehleis Modular Inc. Lease-Lease Back contract for the R.J. Fisher Sports Complex as presented.
Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $3,900,457.
