Quick Summary / Abstract:

Members of the public may address the Board on items not on the agenda. The Board will allow comments by members of the public on an agenda item during consideration of the item. Speakers will be allowed up to three (3) minutes. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 15 minutes. With Board consent, the Board President may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation, depending on the topic and the number of persons wishing to be heard.  It is requested that persons wishing to speak please come forward to the podium and begin by stating their full name. Please be advised that the Brown Act prohibits discussion or action on non-agenda items, and imposes limitations on board members’ responses to public comments. (Government Code section 54954.2(a).) Complaints against specific District employees should be resolved through the District’s Personnel Complaint Procedure. The right to address the Board does not exempt the speaker from any potential liability for defamation. The proceedings of the Board are public record.

15.6. Consider Approval of Updated District Discipline Guidelines

Rationale:

The district discipline guidelines have been updated and reviewed by district and site leadership with the goal of developing consistent guidelines that will be used uniformly at all schools throughout the Escalon Unified School District.

The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Consider Approval of the updated district discipline guidelines.

15.7. Consider Approval of Updated District Dress Code
Rationale:

The district dress code has been updated and reviewed by district and site leadership with the goal of developing a consistent dress code that will be used and enforced throughout the Escalon Unified School District. The new dress code is broken into two components: a K-5th grade component and a 6th -12th grade component. 


 
Recommended Motion:

The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Consider Approval of the updated district dress code.

15.8. Consider Approval of MOU with California School Employee Association (CSEA)
Rationale:

The district and the local CSEA Chapter agreed to an MOU changing work hours and locations for custodialstaff and starting two new Bus Driver/other duties work hours and locations.  CSEA has approved the MOU at their May 1st meeting so this MOU is being brought before the board for approval. Once approved the district will be able to begin the changes in work hours and locations. 

 
Recommended Motion:

The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Consider Approval of the MOU with CSEA.
