1. NOTICE - COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER: MEETING TO BE HELD VIRTUALLY
Quick Summary / Abstract:
Pursuant to orders given by San Joaquin County Public Health Department and the State of California Public Health Department, all members of the Board of Education as well as the Superintendent and District Staff, will join the meeting via phone/video conference and no teleconference locations need be posted. The district will be using a webinar format (using Zoom) for the Board Members to participate remotely, and to allow for orderly public comment.  There will not be a physical location for this meeting.

Participants who would like to make comments can join the meeting from their computer, tablet or phone. We ask that participants to type their full name when joining the meeting, as prompted.  The board president, will announce the opportunity for public comment on non-agenda items  and for each agenda item. We ask that all participants who wish to make public comments for that item use the “Raise your Hand” functionality. The attendees will be called upon, their microphone unmuted, and then allowed to make their statement for up to three minutes. At the end of three minutes the attendee’s microphone will be muted and the next participant will be called upon.

Quick Summary / Abstract:

Members of the public may address the Board on items not on the agenda. The Board will allow comments by members of the public on an agenda item during consideration of the item. Speakers will be allowed up to three (3) minutes. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 15 minutes. With Board consent, the Board President may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation, depending on the topic and the number of persons wishing to be heard.  It is requested that persons wishing to speak please come forward to the podium and begin by stating their full name. Please be advised that the Brown Act prohibits discussion or action on non-agenda items, and imposes limitations on board members’ responses to public comments. (Government Code section 54954.2(a).) Complaints against specific District employees should be resolved through the District’s Personnel Complaint Procedure. The right to address the Board does not exempt the speaker from any potential liability for defamation. The proceedings of the Board are public record.

15. ACTION ITEMS
15.1. Consider Approval of Resolution Number 20-21-20, Approving a Final Guaranteed Maximum Price for Improvements at Collegeville Elementary School, determining the scope of the project, authorizing the Project to Proceed, and Approving Lease Amendments.
Rationale:
Approval of this resolution will include acceptance of the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the base bid, optional Alternative #1 and optional Alternative #2, for the improvements at Collegeville Elementary School which will include a new parking lot and student drop off zones (Base Bid), and the addition of a play field and an added asphalt area (Alternates #1 and #2)
 
Recommended Motion:
The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Approve Resolution 20-21-20, Approving the Final Guaranteed Maximum Price for Improvements at Collegeville Elementary School, Authorizing Project to Proceed and Approving the Lease Amendments.

15.2. Consider Approval of Work Proposal from American Technologies, Inc. for the Roof and Classroom Repair Work at Dent Elementary School

Rationale:
The roof over the five classrooms and interior walls, floorings, and ceiling sustained significant damage during the storm on January 27, 2021.  The mitigation and asbestos abatement work was completed and now we are seeking approval for the structural repairs to the roof and classrooms in the amount of $141,948.62.
 
Recommended Motion:
The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Approve the Work Proposal from American Technologies Inc. for the Roof and Classroom Repairs at Dent Elementary School

15.3. Consider Approval to Surplus Vehicle at M.O.T

MOT has a 2006 Ford Taurus that is no longer used due to age and repair needs. Once surplused it will be sold on the govdeals.com auction site. 
 
Recommended Motion:
The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified School District Board of Trustees Approve to Surplus the 2006 Ford Taurus at M.O.T.

15.4. Consider Approval for the 2021-2022 Designation of CIF Representatives to our League

District Representatives to CIF must be voted upon annually by the Board of Trustees. The district is bringing EHS Principal, Eric Simoni, and Athletic Director, Nathan Bartelink forward as Escalon High School's CIF Representatives.
 
Recommended Motion:
The Administration Recommends the Escalon Unified Board of Trustees Approval for the 2021-2022 Designation of CIF Representatives to the League.
