The appointment of the Superintendent as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees is usually done during the organizational meeting in December following an election. The appointment is being brought before the board since Mr. Chavez will be the district Superintendent effective July 1, 2022. |

Members of the public may address the Board on items not on the agenda. The Board will allow comments by members of the public on an agenda item during consideration of the item. Speakers will be allowed up to three (3) minutes. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 15 minutes. With Board consent, the Board President may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation, depending on the topic and the number of persons wishing to be heard. It is requested that persons wishing to speak please come forward to the podium and begin by stating their full name. Please be advised that the Brown Act prohibits discussion or action on non-agenda items, and imposes limitations on board members’ responses to public comments. (Government Code section 54954.2(a).) Complaints against specific District employees should be resolved through the District’s Personnel Complaint Procedure. The right to address the Board does not exempt the speaker from any potential liability for defamation. The proceedings of the Board are public record.

Within the provisions of the voter approved Proposition 30 on November 6, 2012, Chief Business Officials are required before June 30th of each year to estimate the total amount of additional revenues, less refunds that will be derived from the incremental increases in tax rates made pursuant to Article XIII, Section 36(f) that will be available for transfer into the Education Protection Account during the next fiscal year. |

Title III of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as reauthorized under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), aims to ensure that English learners (EL's) and immigrant students attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English. Title III will also assist all English learners meet the same challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet. As part of the LCAP Federal Addendum Title III documentation was submitted and approved by the California Department of Education (CDE). Local Education Agencies (LEA's) are advised to update Title III plans as appropriate and necessary to continue meeting the needs of ELs and immigrant students. |

The Escalon High School Music Department has developed a new course which has been approved by the University of California A-G Course Management Portal as an A-G course. As part of this process, the Escalon High School Music Department reviewed several textbooks. The Department considered content, scope and sequence and the appropriateness of the text. The Escalon High School Music Department is recommending the EUSD School Board consider adopting, "Alfred's Basic Adult All-In-One Course, Level 1 Piano and Guitar Curriculum.” |

The Escalon High School Math Department has been reviewing textbooks to update instructional materials for the Advanced Placement Statistics course. As part of the process, the Escalon High School Math Department reviewed various textbooks. The Department considered content, scope and sequence and the appropriateness of the text. The Escalon High School Math Department is recommending the EUSD School Board consider adopting “The Practice of Statistics, 6th Edition,” by Starnes and Tabor. |

As per Education Code #45101 (a), which amends E.C. 45103 regarding District short-term employee assignments, the Board of Trustees at a regularly scheduled meeting must specify the service required to be performed by an employee and certify the ending date of such service.

The 2021–22 State Budget package established the UPK Planning and Implementation Grant Program as a state early learning initiative with the goal of expanding access to prekindergarten programs at local educational agencies (LEAs). Under state law, the plan must be developed for consideration by the LEA’s governing board or body at a public meeting on or before June 30, 2022, after which the LEA must provide data, as specified by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, to the CDE. LEAs will have until June 30, 2025, to use the funds. |

The A-G Completion Improvement Grant Program was established during the 2021-22 fiscal year for the purpose of providing additional supports to local educational agencies to help increase the number of California high school pupils, particularly unduplicated pupils, who graduate from high school with A-G eligibility.
