C.1. Equity Learning Session facilitated by National Equity Project

Quick Summary / Abstract:
The National Equity Project (NEP) will be in attendance to facilitate a Board workshop session. The session with NEP will have three major outcomes which include: 

Session Outcomes:

  1. Shared understanding and commitment about the Board’s role in supporting the District’s work towards equity in the current context

  2. Board will consider a change model that could support systemic change to address cultural issues of hate and non-acceptance identified by our students, staff and family community
  3. Identify opportunities to strategically build conditions necessary to support meaningful change, given the Board’s sphere of influence

Recommended Motion:

Approve the Grand Jury responses to "Hate @ Schools - Opportunities Lost " as presented.
