1. CALL TO ORDER: 4:30 P.M.
2. RECESS TO CLOSED SESSION
2.1. Review Non-Public School/Non-Public Agency contract(s) for the 2018-2019 school year.
2.2. GOVT. CODE § 54957.6 – CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR(S) – Agency Designated Representative: Dr. Joan Rosas. Employee Organization: SMETA, CSEA and/or SMEAA.
2.3. GOVT. CODE § 54957 - PUBLIC EMPLOYEE DISCIPLINE/DISMISSAL/RELEASE. If these discussions are not completed before 6:30 p.m., the Closed Session will continue following the regular meeting.

8. SUPERINTENDENT SERVICES/BOARD
8.1. Study Session - Discussion of Enrollment in Montessori Magnet Schools, Fee based Pre-Schools and Priority Entrance, Current Magnet Policy
Rationale:

The Trustees will discuss and provide direction to staff on potential next steps related to the:

  • Timeline and process for input regarding the Montessori program and structural options for Parkside/North Shoreview
  • Inclusion of subsidized programming within the fee based pre-school programs and priority entrance from fee based pre-schools into kindergarten at College Park, Fiesta Gardens, North Shoreview Montessori and Parkside Montessori
  • Identification of District Magnets as delineated in the present Magnet Policy and the SES balance in those schools and/or district-wide
 
Recommended Motion:

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES REVIEW AND PROVIDE DIRECTION TO STAFF ON THE MONTESSORI MAGNET SCHOOLS' ENROLLMENT PRACTICES, FEE BASED PRESCHOOLS AND PRIORITY ENTRANCE, AND CURRENT MAGNET POLICY.
