President Marilyn Buchi called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
1.1. Flag Salute

The flag salute was led by President Marilyn Buchi.

1.3. Approval of Agenda
Minutes:
It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda. Student Board Member Jenna Beining cast a preferential vote in favor of the motion. The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote

Comment cards were received regarding agenda item 2.1 Hybrid Schedule/Distance Learning. The following individuals addressed the Board in support of returning to the Hybrid Schedule and in-classroom instruction: Leah Siapin; Jolene Denham; Lindsay Blume; Scott Rosenkranz; Suzanne Boxdorfer; Lisa Lamascus; Jason Oakes; Antonio Ramon; Lindsey Gatica; Adam Nazaroff; Anita Axe; MJ Noor; Christina Maria Leach; Laura Rosenkranz; Brian O'Neill; Claire Spradley; Natania Spradley; Heidi Forrester; Christine Hahm; and, Christianne Lange.
The following individuals addressed the Board in support of continuing the Distance Learning schedule: Allen Stubblefield; Magdalena Villalba; Mariam Tan; Nolina Beauchamp; Jenny Redmond; Mary Ayala-Herman; Bill Czech; Hope Molina-Porter; Angie Cencak; and Paul Rodriguez.
District employee Rosemarie Whitaker stated that she and most classified employees have been on campus during Distance Learning. Ms. Whitaker commented that they are there to help and support students, parents, teachers, and staff members.
Student Owen Lefebvre addressed the Board and suggested ideas of what could be done now to improve the current situation for students.
2. Discussion Item
2.1. Hybrid Schedule/Distance Learning
Minutes:
President Buchi asked each of the Board Members and the Student Board Member to share their thoughts regarding extending the Distance Learning Schedule or return to the Hybrid Schedule.
A portion of the discussion centered around the information that is provided in the school site safety plans and if the information is up to date.
Following discussion, the Board gave direction to the Superintendent to return to the Hybrid Schedule on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The Superintendent will follow up with site administrators to ensure that each school site safety plan will be reviewed and revised where necessary.
Mrs. Buchi thanked the Superintendent for his continued conversations with Dr. Chau and for Dr. Scambray's advocacy for teachers to receive the COVID vaccine as soon as possible.

President Buchi declared the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m. in accordance with Government Code Section 54956.9 (a,b,c).
