Welcome to a meeting of the Alpine County Unified School District Board of Trustees. At this time, the Board of Trustees will listen to communication from the public on any Closed Session items. Please limit comments to three minutes per person.

The law allows the public to address the Governing Board on any matter, whether or not it is on the agenda, but the law prohibits action by the Governing Board on nonagenda items. Board Bylaw 9323 states that “Individual speakers shall be allowed three minutes to address the Board on each agenda or nonagenda item. The Board shall limit the total time for public input on each item to 20 minutes. With Board consent, the president may increase or decrease the time allowed for public presentation, depending on the topic and the number of persons wishing to be heard. The president may take a poll of speakers for or against a particular issue and may ask that additional person speak only if they have something new to add.”

Information concerning the following consent items has been forwarded to each board member for study prior to this meeting. Unless a board member has a question concerning a particular item and asks that it be withdrawn from the consent list, the items are approved at one time by the Governing Board |

Ms. Potorsky is going on maternity leave at the beginning of March. There is no sub credential for counseling, however Human Resources reached out to Sacramento State who indicated that they have several students in their final semester that already have their PPS Internship Credential for School Counseling which would make them eligible to serve as substitute counselors. The Job posting will include the following: - Position Title: Interim Academic, Career and Personal / Social Development Counselor

- Salary Info: Annual starting salary $47,535 to Maximum $50,712. Placement based on experience and education. Intern eligible counselors are encouraged to apply

At the February 5, 2019 Special Board meeting the Board of Education approved the new Diamond Valley Elementary School Principal job description and salary schedule with modifications to both. The Board requested that those modifications be made and additionally gave direction to the Superintendent to have the organizational charts updated to reflect changes in job description aided by flow charts provided by Trustee Brothers. The modification to each document are presented below: Modifications to Job Description - In Qualifications - Removed qualification #1 and edited # 2 to say "Previous experience as school administrator at a K-8 preferred."
- Non Essential Duties / Tasks #2 edited to say "Performs additional responsibilities as necessary to support the school site.
- Added Contract dates to Job Description
Modification to Salary Schedule - Changed contract days from 210 to 205
- Attachments include additional back up / comparisons to other districts, financial information from Business Manager, and daily rate
Modifications to Organization Charts - District and County Organizational charts were updated to reflect the changes to the Principal and Superintendent's listed oversight and duties for 2019-20.
- Changes in Expanded Learning Program oversight are reflected

The ACUSD Safety Committee held meetings on January 24, 2019 and February 6, 2019 to review, provide input and adopt the 2018-19 ACUSD Comprehensive School Safety Plan which includes clarification of Lock Down terminology to be used at all sites. In addition, a Flyer was developed to be provided to all parents of students at ACUSD sites detailing "What happens during a Lock Down". Updated Board Policies and Incident Command Structures were also included in the 2018-19 ACUSD Comprehensive Safety Plan

The Safety Committee reviewed, provided input and adopted the 2018-19 Diamond Valley Elementary School Safety Plan which includes updating the new PA system announcements to agree with the clarified Lock Down terminology.

The Safety Committee reviewed, provided input and adopted the 2018-19 Bear Valley Elementary School Safety Plan. Bear Valley Deputy Tim Bottomley accepted the Safety Committee's invitation to represent Law enforcement and Fire protection in Bear Valley on the committee. The Plan is newly created and focuses on ensuring the School meets current Safety regulations since the School had been closed for several years and has undergone reconstruction to open for the 2018-19 school year.
