Minutes:
President Tuatagaloa convened the meeting to Open Session at 6:13 PM.

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Minutes:
Vanessa Gilles, SRHS student, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
III. PUBLIC COMMENTS on Agendized Items
Minutes:
Renee O’Hare: regarding childcare at Venetia Valley.
IV. PRESENTATION: ESD/HSD Local Control and Accountability Plan - Overview, Annual Update, Alignment and Refined Goals
Minutes:
President Tuatagaloa opened the community workshop, introducing trustees.

Superintendent Watenpaugh asked all to participate in an opening activity for all to get to know others around them in the audience.

Dr. Watenpaugh, Dr. Zaich and Ms. Perrino reviewed: the objectives of the meeting and the desired outcome to gather input on SRCS’s refined goals and prioritize actions and services for the 2015-18 LCAP; norms of the meeting; a brief overview of information on the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP); the 8 State Priorities; the LCAP engagement process that the district is using, and the goals as they were written into last year’s LCAP.

Terra Linda HS AVID teacher Lauren Inman was introduced. Ms. Inman, and former students Selena Hernandez and Kevin Solorzano, and current AVID student Alexis Duenas were present to provide an update on AVID as an example of a successful program that has been included in the LCAP and has made a very positive impact on the lives and futures of students in the program. They responded to questions from the audience about the program.

Dr. Zaich reviewed the cycle of the LCAP process with the developed plan reviewed annual, data is collected to refine the plan and match with available resources to develop a new rolling 3 year plan.

Dr. Watenpaugh introduced the 5 newly refined LCAP goals which are aligned to the newly adopted Board and Superintendent goals.

V. BREAKOUT SESSIONS ON REFINED LCAP GOALS
Quick Summary / Abstract:
Trustees and community members will participate in breakout discussions regarding the San Rafael Elementary and High School District LCAP refined goals.
Minutes:
Ms. Perrino reviewed the process for the evening with everyone breaking out into 5 groups to provide input on the refined goals. Each person began with a pre-selected goal and then had the opportunity to move to other breakout rooms to provide input on 2 other refined goals of their choice.

Ms. Perrino invited all to the next Community Workshop meeting on May 4, 6:00 PM, San Rafael HS Library.

The group participated in the input activity from 7:00 - 8:15 PM.
