5. ACTION ITEMS
5.A. Approval of a Shared Superintendent Agreement with Buellton Unified School District beginning July 1, 2019.
Quick Summary / Abstract:

This agreement has been reviewed at previous meetings by the Board and the BUSD Superintendent has been interviewed by the Board. Upon agreement by both districts, the BUSD Superintendent will oversee District operations of Vista Del Mar Union School District. VDMUSD will reimburse BUSD for 30% of the total compensation for Superintendent services. The agreement is attached. Compensation amounts and detail will be available at the Board meeting.

5.B. Approval of Lunch Services Contract between VDMUSD and Lompoc USD for 2019-20 School Year
Quick Summary / Abstract:

Lompoc USD will provide school lunch preparation and deliver services in 2019-20 under the terms of the attached contract.

Recommended Motion:

It is recommended that the Board approve the contract of School Lunch Services between VDMUSD and LUSD for 2019-20.

5.C. Ratification of Lease Agreement for District Residence
Quick Summary / Abstract:

The Board has previously approved in concept a lease between VDMUSD and the District's sole operations, facilities, and maintenance worker. This item presents the finalize leased agreement after final review by legal counsel.

Recommended Motion:

It is recommended that the Board ratify the lease agreement for the District residence.

5.D. Approve dismissal of certain certificated employees in accordance with the Superintendent’s recommendation made prior to March 15, 2019, and instruct the Superintendent to notify each such certificated employee prior to May 15, 2019, that the employee’s services will not be required for the 2019-2020 school year.
Recommended Motion:

Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 09-2018-2019.

5.E. Discussion on Status of J-13A Report Requesting Waiver related to Attendance on December 4, 2018 and possible action to schedule an additional school day on June 13, 2019
Quick Summary / Abstract:

The District has submitted a report to the Santa Barbara County Education Office requesting attendance waiver for the school closure due to power outage and inclement weather on December 4, 2019. If the County fails to accept the request for a waiver, the District will need to add a make-up attendance day on June 13, 2019. We expect to have an update on the status of the District's request by the time of this meeting.

Recommended Motion:

It is recommended that the District approve scheduling a make-up attendance day for June 13, 2019 in the event that the J-13A attendance waiver is denied by the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
