Speakers wishing to address the Board on items on the agenda or not on the agenda, you may complete speaker's cards and submit them to the Board Secretary. If you are addressing the Board on a non-agenda item, please be aware that the provisions of the Brown Act prohibit the Board from acting or discussing such matters at this meeting. Public comments are limited to three (3) minutes per person per topic.

That the Board adopt the proposed changes to Board Policy, which include changes to and deletion of policies as presented.

That the Board of Trustees approves Resolution #5 to eliminate 0.05 FTE Para-educator Inclusion positions due to lack of work.

That the Board of Trustees approves the attached Comprehensive School Safety Plans in accordance with Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 0450.

The Principal from each of our four K-5 elementary schools (Central, Cipriani, Fox, and Redwood Shores) will give an update on their school’s progress toward Belmont-Redwood Shores School District’s Strategic Plan goals for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Board of Trustees will receive an update on the Districtwide Safety Training.

Staff will present to the Board of Trustees a summary of 2019-2020 enrollment.

For this item, the Board will first hold a public hearing, and then take action on Resolution #4.

That the Board of Trustees hold a Public Hearing on October 17, 2019, on the assurance of textbook sufficiency.   Following the Public Hearing that the Board of Trustees approves Resolution #4 assuring compliance with Education Code 60119(c) for adequacy of instructional materials and content alignment for pupils in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District.

The Board of Trustees will receive an update from the Superintendent regarding the local indicators for the California School Dashboard.  The California School Dashboard is the state’s reporting tool to communicate how schools and school districts are progressing in each of the priority areas listed in the Local Control Accountability Plan.  There are six state indicators that draw from state assessment data, attendance information, and suspension and graduation rates.  There are an additional five local indicators Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are to report upon.
