H.4. Budget Services for being Awarded the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International Meritorious Budget Award for 2017-18
Rationale:

The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International awarded its Meritorious Budget Award to Twin Rivers Unified School District for its 2017-2018 Adopted Budget.  The District is very proud to have received this prestigious award on its first year of submission for the 2010-2011 budget and every year thereafter.

ASBO International requires that the budget document be technically well prepared, easy to read, the information flows in a logical sequence, narratives are clear and understandable and the document is free of spelling and grammatical error.  In addition, there are many specific requirements of information to be included in the document.  Receiving this award is recognition that the District has met the highest standards of excellence in school district budget reporting as adopted by ASBO International.

Our Budget Services staff - Kate Ingersoll, Barbara Mitchell, Leslie Adlesperger, Janis Berry, Janelle Bosick, Jennifer Brown, Jillmee Cha, Bonnie Crotts, Xue Her, Bethany Linder and Rob Roach - is commended for putting in many extra hours developing this model budget.  The ASBO International Budget Award illustrates the high level of performance of these individuals.

Budget Services staff will be formally recognized by the Board of Trustees at the November 14, 2017 regular board meeting for a job well done.

Rationale:

On Sept. 29, 2017, the District issued a Request for Proposals for a Content Management System, with a proposal due date of Oct. 20, 2017.  Proposals were received from seven firms, and have now been evaluated.  Contact persons: Bill McGuire, telephone number (916) 566-1600 ext. 50138; Russ Selken, telephone number (916) 566-1600 ext. 77312.


 
Quick Summary / Abstract:

On September 29, 2017, the District issued a Request for Proposals for a Content Management System for the District’s school sites and administrative offices. The RFP was publicly advertised and posted on the District website. A preproposal telephone conference was held October 16, an Addendum with summary questions and answers was posted and circulated to bidders on October 17, and proposals were due October 20. The District received seven proposals which were evaluated by a panel using the criteria provided in the RFP. Evaluation points included the system design/solution; the firm's competitive cost proposal; available service and support; previous experience with TRUSD; references from other clients/districts; and the amount of training required to implement the system. Two finalist firms were interviewed by a District panel on October 25. Evaluation results and rankings are attached. The Superintendent recommends award of contract to CatapultK12 based on the strength of their proposal and competitive cost/value to the District. L.9. APPROVE Schools' Addendum to the 2017/18 Single Plan for Student Achievement
Rationale:

The Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a plan of action to raise the academic performance of all students to the level of performance goals established under federal, state and local programs.

The contents of the school plans are aligned with the Local Education Agency (LEA) plan and school goals for improving student achievement. School goals are based upon an analysis of verifiable district data; including local measures of pupil achievement, CAHSEE passage rates, UC A-G Completion, graduation rates, drop-out rates, CELDT scores and AP passages rates.

The committee was facilitated by Gina Carreon, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The attached calendars were selected.
