Quick Summary / Abstract:

a. School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) (Information Item)
Quick Summary / Abstract:

Middle School principals will present the successes and areas of focus as listed in their School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) to the Board of Education.

Presentation order:

  • Brownell Middle School
  • Ascencion Solorsano Middle School
  • South Valley Middle School
Rationale:
The purpose of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is for schools to develop a comprehensive plan to improve the academic performance of all students and to appropriately expend funding allocations. The SPSA development and implementation process aligns with the implementation plan for the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).

Comments:

School plans must be developed with the review, certification, and advice of any applicable school advisory committees.  The plan must be reviewed annually and updated, including proposed expenditures of funds allocated to the school through the Consolidated Application, by the School Site Council.  Plans must be reviewed and approved by the governing board of the local educational agency whenever there are material changes that affect the academic programs for students covered by programs funded through the Consolidated Application.

The School Plan is used to meet planning requirements for Title I School-wide Programs (SWP), Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI), Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI).

The District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) have been designed to work together. The main goals of the District LCAP are included in each SPSA. The LCAP is a three year local education agency  (LEA) planning document, while the SPSA is  a school site specific plan that is developed annually.

Updated academic performance data for the statewide assessments is not available due to the cancellation of testing in March 2020. The schools will include local data such as benchmarks in order to set academic goals

Financial Impact:
Each site’s budget is included within the SPSA
