4. BOARD DECISION ON NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DESIGN (Assistant Superintendent, Business Services)

Rationale:

BACKGROUND:

In order for our architect, IBI Group, to finish the final drawing for Phase I of the new elementary school on McCandless Drive, the District must  first decide on the interior design of the building.  At this meeting, IBI Group will present to the Board three options as follows:

     - learning community model
     - traditional classroom model
     - combination of learning community and traditional classroom

A Board decision on what direction to take is needed for IBI Group to move forward on preparing the final drawings and to submit this document to the California Department of Education by mid-August so we can meet the closing escrow deadline.
