| The Board of Trustees will provide an opportunity for public input regarding the purchase of San Antonio Center parcels.

| Before finalizing acquisition of property intended for use as a school site, school districts are required to hold a public hearing to evaluate the property in accordance with the site selection standards set forth in the Education Code, their implementing regulations, and the California Department of Education's ("CDE") School Site Selection and Approval Guide. (See Education Code, § 17211.)
Following the public hearing, the Board of Trustees may choose to approve the attached proposed Resolution, which makes certain findings relating to the parcels and CDE's school site selection criteria, approves the acquisition of the parcels, and authorizes Superintendent Baier to execute the paperwork and take all other actions needed to close escrow. |

| CSBA periodically advises districts of recommended changes in board policies, administrative regulations and board bylaws as a means to assist boards in keeping their policies current and reflecting all recent changes in law and regulations. The Board of Trustees will review the updated wording for the following bylaw.

| The policies of the Los Altos School District are influenced by federal, state, and local policies, statutes, and court decisions. In order to keep our policies current with the ongoing changes affecting our policies, the California School Boards Association (CSBA) periodically advises districts of recommended changes in board policies, administrative regulations and board bylaws as a means to assist boards in keeping their policies current and reflecting the changes in those laws and regulations. The Board of Trustees will review the updated wording for the attached board bylaw. This is a first reading of the updated bylaw. Approval will occur at a future meeting. |
