This time is reserved for citizens and employees to address the board on items that are not on the agenda. Community members wishing to address the board are allotted up to three (3) minutes per speaker. The board and administration welcome this opportunity to listen; however, the board is not permitted to discuss or take action on non-agenda items, except to instruct the superintendent to review the matter further, report back to the board at a subsequent meeting or place the matter on a future agenda. A public hearing will be held on the availability of textbooks and instructional materials for each student in the district. (Mrs. McGonagle) [5 minutes - Discussion]
Rationale:
According to Education Code Section 60119, annually the local governing board is to hold a public hearing and make a determination, through resolution, as to whether each pupil in each school in the district has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both.
 
H.4. Resolution #19/20-19, Sufficiency of Instructional Materials

The Board of Trustees will consider approving a resolution assuring that each student in the district is provided with sufficient textbook and instructional materials. (Mrs. McGonagle) [5 minutes - Action]
Recommended Motion:
Adopt Resolution #19/20-19, Sufficiency of Instructional Materials
Rationale:
Educational Code Section 60242.5 requires the superintendent of each local education agency to provide a written assurance to the Superintendent of Public Instruction with regard to the allowable expenditure of instructional materials fund for the following programs listed below. Instructional Materials Funding Realignment Program for the fiscal year of 2019-20, and carryover funds from previous years; Instructional Materials Funds related to the Williams Settlement for the fiscal year 2019-20; K-8 Instructional Materials Program carryover funds. The resolution assures sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials consistent with the cycles and contents of curriculum frameworks and funding requirements.

H.6. Sharing of Parcel Tax Proceeds with Bullis Charter School
Quick Summary / Abstract:
As required in Exhibit B of the 2016 Measure GG Parcel Tax, "BCS shall annually provide a written report accounting for its expenditure of parcel tax proceeds...." BCS has provided a report showing its expenditure of proceeds in 2018-19 on teacher salaries (report attached). The board shall make a determination regarding whether BCS expended its share of the tax proceeds as required by Measure GG. (Mr. Kenyon) [5 minutes - Action]
