The personnel report as of August 31, 2015 includes a revised job description for the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent & Board of Trustees and is presented to the Governing Board for approval and action. It is the recommendation of the Assistant Superintendent-Educational Services/HR and the Superintendent that the Governing Board approve the personnel report as presented.

1. CLASSIFIED EMPLOYMENT Amanda Speedy has been offered the position of PE Specialist (.2750 FTE) at Louise Van Meter Elementary School effective August 21, 2015. 2. CLASSIFIED CONFIDENTIAL RETIREMENT Denise Ramon Herrera, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent (1.0 FTE) has submitted her retirement effective November 13, 2015. 3. CERTIFICATED MANAGEMENT RETIREMENT Dana Steele, Assistant Principal/Middle School Counselor (1.0 FTE) at R.J. Fisher Middle School has submitted her retirement effective September 4, 2015. 4. The public hearing is held for the purpose of taking testimony from the public, regarding the Initial Collective Bargaining Proposal from the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association (LGETA) to the Los Gatos Union School District for the 2015-2016 school year. |

This is the initial proposal for the 2015-2016 negotiation cycle. The Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association (LGETA) proposes to discuss and negotiate the impact of the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CALSTRS) regulations for LGETA members, which opens Article 12, Compensation: Unit Member Benefits and Article 13 Compensation and Wages for the 2015-2016 school year. All other contract reopeners, as specified in the collective bargaining agreement will be sunshined at a later board meeting. This is an action item.

The “sunshine” clause of the Rodda Act requires that each party’s proposal be presented for public comment at a publicized school board meeting. Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO, Martin Fregoso will present the Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) proposed goals for 2015-2016 to the Governing Board for approval. This is an action item.
|
The Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) is a Board appointed committee and the purpose of the FAC is to fully understand all the Los Gatos Union School District (LGUSD) plans, budgets, investments and funding, as well as basic understanding of educational financial governance and statue. The FAC is a working group operating under the direction of the Governing Board. On June 9, 2015 the Board received three suggested FAC Goals for 2015-16 as follows: 1. In collaboration with all members of the Financial Advisory Committee, focus on maintaining a long-term sustainable financial plan for the technology needs of the LGUSD Strategic Plan. 2. In collaboration with all members of the Financial Advisory Committee, focus on developing a long term financial model to maintain programs as enrollment increases. 3. In collaboration with all members of the Financial Advisory Committee continue to review best practices to increase communication and education to stakeholders on District programs and financial and enrollment challenges. The above goals are recommended for the Governing Board's approval.

Assistant Superintendent-Business Services/CBO, Martin Fregoso will present the Citizens' Building Oversight Committee (CBOC) proposed goals for 2015-2016 to the Governing Board for approval. This is an action item.
|
The Citizens' Building Oversight Committee (CBOC) is a Board appointed committee and the purpose of the CBOC is to provide oversight of Measure E construction projects in the district. On August 17, 2015 the Board suggested that the CBOC provide some recommendations on a construction timeline for the remaining Measure E projects. The following proposed goal is recommended for approval: 1. In collaboration with all members of the CBOC, develop a construction timeline for the remaining Measure E projects at Blossom Hill and Daves Avenue. This goal is recommended for the Governing Board's approval.
