Hourly Substitute Pay Rate

The Williams Uniform Complaints Quarterly Report as of March 31, 2019 is presented to the Governing Board for approval and action. It is the recommendation of the Assistant Superintendent and the Superintendent that the Governing Board approve the report as presented.

According to the settlement of the Williams case, school districts are required to report quarterly to their governing boards any complaints they have received with regard to Textbooks and Instructional Materials, Teacher Vacancy or Misassignment, or Facilities Conditions, as required by Education Code 35186. In the first quarter of 2019, January 1 through March 31, 2019 there were no complaints received by the District. These quarterly reports will be filed with the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

The agreement settles and closes negotiations for the 2018-19 school year. The summary of the changes to the contract are attached to this item including the amended salary schedule. The District and the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association reached an agreement in the area of compensation, as well as contract language changes in Article 8 Class Size.

Superintendent Paul Johnson will lead the district through a comprehensive strategic planning process during the 2019-2020 school year. This will include multiple input opportunities for stakeholders and professional analysis. The projected outcome will be a 5-year strategic plan that includes five year objectives, strategies for achievement, indicators of success, and a vision/mission statement. Action items will be determined annually to achieve the agreed upon objectives. Superintendent Johnson will explain the rationale and process timeline to the governing board for discussion. |

In March of 2019 the California Energy Commission approved the Los Gatos Union School District amended Energy Expenditure Plan (EEP) to include interior lighting upgrades for Daves Avenue School, Blossom Hill School and Lexington School. On March 20, 2019 four electrical contractors pre-qualified through Ecology Action were sent project scope packages and asked to submit a Request for Proposal with a deadline of April 10, 2019. Two contractors submitted a proposal by the April 10, 2019 deadline. The low quote was selected and is presented to the Governing Board. |
