District administrators will present a proposed reopening plan to the Governing Board for discussion. The District seeks direction from the Governing Board in implementing the plan. |
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all public schools in California were closed to in-person instruction beginning March 16, 2020. District teachers and administrators quickly mobilized to plan for, prepare and deliver curriculum to our students in a phased distance learning model. With guidance from the Santa Clara County Office of Education and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, LGUSD has been planning for three possible scenarios of instruction for opening the 2020-2021 school year. A task force of administrators, teachers and classified support staff worked over the past two months analyzing survey data and discussing the various options. Work groups then worked within changing state and county guidelines to further details of the agreed upon plan for each scenario, while prioritizing student and staff safety. Tonight's presentation represents the current plan in a changing landscape. |
